We’re proud to commit to a better future for the planet we inhabit, and so we’ve made the conscious decision to transition our brand and overall business to a more environmentally conscious and sustainable one.
1% of all of our sales are donated to the preservation of our oceans and to support awareness and activism around environmental issues. This is done via the Gowings Whale Trust, started by John Gowing, our parent company’s owner, who himself is a strong support of the environment and an agent for change.
Of course we can always improve and have several projects in the works to help minimise our footprint.
Here are some of the current initiatives and changes we have made:
FCS is proud to announce our involvement in Australia’s first Indigenous-run marine plastic recycling enterprise, transforming waste plastic into functional products.
The project will be funded by the Gowings Whale Trust, a not for profit environmental organisation supported through donations of the FCS 1% Supporting Our Oceans initiative.
New Low Impact Construction. Same High Impact Performance.
Made with a 50% glass and Bio-Resin EcoBlend™, the NeoGlass Eco range delivers the same quality and trusted feel you’ve come to expect while at the same time reducing our carbon footprint by using more sustainably sourced materials in the construction.
We’ve made it our mission to design products that use low impact, sustainable materials while still remaining focussed on maintaining the highest quality and performance.
The new FCS Eco Traction marries the considered design of our popular T-3 traction with materials sourced from nature.
Made from sugarcane-based bio-foam, the popular FCS T-3 traction pad has been reconstructed for sustainability with the same trusted performance you expect from the essential 3-piece grip.
Both our new H4 and current FCS II fin packaging comes boxed in a paper-based pulp tray (made from old newspapers!) and a recycled PET plastic sleeve. All ink used are soy based which is better for the environment and also makes the paper easier to recycle.
In the next few months we are moving all of our online delivered to biodegradable post bags (made from renewable plants) to ensure less plastic polybags end up in the trash.

In addition to making our production more sustainable long-term our goal has always been to create products of the highest quality that are built to last.
Extending the life of a product is the most effective way to use less natural resources and create less waste and as we move into the future we continue to approach new projects and development with this in mind.
